Meet our Full-Time Staff
President
Antonia Steinberg serves as the President of the Board of Buck’s Rock Camp, a non-profit art camp that played a significant role in shaping her life. Over fifteen summers at Buck’s Rock, she transitioned from camper to counselor-in-training (CIT) and ultimately to counselor. Buck’s Rock offered her a sense of belonging to a unique community where she could explore various artistic endeavors, from music and screen printing to woodworking and dance.
Antonia credits Buck’s Rock with offering her unparalleled opportunities and freedom, and equipping her with skills and competencies that supported her through her time at Rhode Island School of Design. Recognizing the advantage Buck’s Rock provided her, Antonia transformed Buck’s Rock into a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and is dedicated to making it more accessible. She has been a driving force behind numerous accessibility initiatives, such as, establishing and implementing a sliding scale tuition system and more transparent and equitable hiring practices.
Antonia's vision is to create a community where every camper can explore their potential, fail shamelessly, and succeed with pride, just as she did.

Scott Kraiterman
Camp Director
Scott Kraiterman (he/him), our current Camp Director, has been a member of the Buck’s Rock community since 1995. Starting at twelve years old, he attended Buck’s Rock for four summers as a camper and one as a CIT in the PASS shop in 1999. Scott returned in 2002 to work as a JC in the Metals shop, and has since spent every summer at Buck’s Rock as staff. After working five summers in Metals, Scott continued on as the Athletics Coordinator, CIT Guidance Counselor, Assistant Director, and ultimately Camp Director from 2017 to the present. In the off season, as an undergraduate at The George Washington University, Scott pursued the field of psychology, which he directly attributes to his confidence gained as a camper at Buck’s Rock. He earned his doctorate in clinical and school psychology at Rutgers University in 2015, and now works as a school psychologist and therapist in a self-contained therapeutic and behavioral disabilities school in Piscataway, New Jersey. He has also provided counseling and therapeutic services to the district’s youth residents at a mental health clinic in the township’s high school. Buck’s Rock is Scott’s home, and his love for its community and history, its mission and values, and its future has shaped every step of his life. Buck’s Rock has provided for him, as it has for thousands over the years, a place to feel safe and valued as a child, then connected and unbound as an adolescent, and finally the opportunity to provide that space for the next generation of campers as an adult. As our director, he hopes to be able to continue to grow in that role for years to come.

Lizzie Araujo Haller
Director of Operations
Lizzie Araujo-Haller (she/her) is a Rhode Island native by way of Co-op City in the Bronx. Her work has been centered on the arts. Her specialty is helping to support safe spaces for artists to thrive. Her entire career has been spent working in communities with artists. She has worked with artists of all ages, mediums, and platforms and done all manner of work, including, but not limited to: on-the-ground operations, budgeting, staff management, and organizing. Throughout all these iterations, she is guided by her values of kindness, access, belonging, and of course, her favorite, radical joy.
As an artist and as an arts administrator she has collaborated on creative projects both large and small. But no matter the size, all these projects have a significant impact on those who take part in the creation. She believes that the journey and process of creating are as important as the work itself. Through her work she has found that access for all people to experience joy together in a common public space is a part of a holistic approach to human and community resiliency. Lizzie believes that the quest for true peace requires a safe, powerful, and nimble creative community.
