Metals and Jewelry
Turn raw pieces of metal into beautiful works of art in our metalsmithing program.
As a combination of creative and fine arts, metalsmithing allows campers to make so much more than just rings! In the Metals Shop you can learn how to shape, texturize, solder, fabricate and cast your metal into almost any form you can think of (and even some that you can't). Using sterling silver, copper, brass, and nickel, campers are instructed in making all kinds of jewelry – including rings, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings – as well as small sculptures and even utensils. Campers get to explore the world of useful and wearable art, and create items they will cherish for a lifetime!
During our summers, we offer workshops in different metal-related techniques, as well as some unrelated workshops such as shrinky dinks, fimo, sculpey clay, bead and button jewelry, bead casting, etching, enameling, and even hair extensions!
